CitID Project: Design For Your City
Lately, I’ve been exploring thoughts of civic/city pride. Some people don’t think Houston is anything-special, and I often get riled-up trying to defend the Space City. And now I have another way, other than picking fights with people from Dallas, to express my Houston Pride – The CitID Project.
CitID is a project where designers and artists from around the world are encouraged to create a visual interpretation of the city closest to their heart. Ultimately, the goal is for every city worldwide to have its identity on CitID within a unique collection of global designs depicting various styles and trends. Selected designs will later be published in a CitID book.
The project is still in an early phase. Designs from about 150 cities worldwide have already been received and published – Houston isn’t represented yet. The quality of the work is of course varying. Check-out a few of the designs found on the site, while you ponder what your submission is going to be. I better get to work on something for H-Town.
